Chinese people think that children should show filial piety to their parents and other elderly family members such as grandparents. In ancient times, those who did not treat their parents well were despised by others. Sometimes, a lack of filial piety was considered a crime. As a Chinese traditional ethic standard, filial piety has had a great influence on developing Chinese people’s morality.
